Progress
The market was very slow today, as it consolidated the huge gains from the prior day. (And I so happened to have felt with high confidence that this was the most likely structure for today). So I spent a lot of time reviewing some of my favorite educational materials.
This screen shot of a Jim Dalton seminar is very powerful. I was first introduced to this concept, of "visualizing the developing profile" years ago. But, back then, this idea was so black and white. I simply didn't have the accumulated experience to even try at making a prediction beyond a clumsy and half-hearted attempt.
Now, I can make very meaningful guesses -- that most of the time are within a close proximity of developing market structure. A pure function of accumulated experience and repeated exposure.
So much of learning is simply repeated exposure and effectively building "chunked" information, so that execution becomes automatic and effortless.
With the proper understanding of structure, it's possible to be a fearsome competitor. But there are not many shortcuts on the road to mastery.
