Not sure if I'm going to put up my journal efforts everyday but today was a very positive example of how well the process can support skill development. It's taken me many years to get the journal up to this level. Trading can look embarrassingly easy but be devilishly difficult, driving up frustration and foul language. So sometimes the journal can get very "colorful". But, for the most part, it's professional and indicative of good self psychological management under fire. Many years ago all my journal accomplished was calling myself a host of unpleasantries.
Today, I'm fully entrenched in solution-based self-coaching. My process is guided by specific processes, targeted improvement areas and extensive feedback loops to foster learning. Each day I know what I did right and wrong. And most importantly, I'm keenly aware of what I did right so to EXPAND upon those behaviors.
But the journal is a constant work in progress and no doubt I'll continue to hone and develop it.
